Buckeyes Shuck Huskers 62-3 PDF Print E-mail

( Curtis Samuel had 178 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns, including a 75-yard touchdown reception on Ohio State's first play of the second half, and the sixth-ranked Buckeyes pounded Nebraska 62-3 on Saturday night.
''There was a sense of urgency about everything we did,'' defensive end Sam Hubbard said. ''If somebody made a mistake in practice we did that rep. It was just intense focus all week long.''
The Buckeyes (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten, CFP No. 6) scored more points than Ohio State ever has against a top-10 team and handed the Cornhuskers (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten, CFP No. 10) their most lopsided loss since 2004.

Buckeyes Defense Leads Win vs Tulsa PDF Print E-mail

From COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State overcame a sluggish offensive start, a lightning delay and a driving rainstorm in the second half to beat Tulsa 48-3 on Saturday night.  After piling up a school-record 776 yards of offense last week against Bowling Green, Ohio State (2-0) didn't score an offensive touchdown against Tulsa until quarterback J.T. Barrett ran in from 11 yards with 9:42 left in the third quarter.

It was the defense that kept the Buckeyes grounded as pick-sixes by safety Malik Hooker and cornerback Marshon Lattimore late in the first half sent OSU to a 20-3 halftime lead.  The offense picked it up from there in the second half, scoring another 28 points.  Go Bucks!  Next up...the Boomer Sooners from Oklahoma.

The game starts at 11:00am but they will open the doors a little early for us. If you already paid your dues by mail or at the picnic please see JAN for your membership card. If you haven't paid your dues please bring the attached application and see Jan. Your card gets you 10% off your food purchase every time you come to Buffalo Wings and Rings and your dues helps support our activities throughout the year. Everyone who pays their dues by Saturday will be entered into a drawing for a framed game picture.
Raffle - Our game day chair - Joyce Brannick and Treasurer Marilyn Harroff spent a lot of time finding unique Ohio State items for our raffles this season. Raffle proceeds go to our scholarship funds for area students attending OSU so buy lots of tickets!
Donations for Flood Victims - Our Volunteer Coordinator, Lauren Berk, will be collecting items this Saturday to help flood victims in Louisiana. Gently used clothing for men, women and children as well as toiletry items and small household items are needed.
Upcoming Events:
Saturday, September 10 - OSU swap meet before the Tulsa game - bring your unwanted Ohio State items and trade or sell to others
Saturday, September 17 - Volunteer with us at the Native San Antonio festival. If you are interested please let me know which time slot works best for you; 8 am to 12 noon, 12 to 2 pm or 2 to 4 pm.  The OSU vs. Oklahoma game is at 7:30 pm so we will have plenty of time to volunteer and still watch the game.
Sunday, September 18 - Big Ten Brats in the Park -  2 pm at Raymond Russell Park. Hosted by Wisconsin alumni.
Saturday, October 15 - NF walk - Join the OSU team to raise money for a great cause. This will be at 8 am and is a 2 mile paved walk with lots of fun kid activities. Email me if you are interested in joining our team.
October date to be decided - Discussion of the Wes Moore book (The Other Wes Moore). This was the first year experience read for incoming Freshmen this year. I still have a couple of copies so if you are interested in reading it see me at the game.

We had another great turn-out at our game watch last week--just under 70 loyal fans and alumni.  The Buckeyes need to clean up their game, but it was a W and we still almost covered the spread.  At this game watch, as we always do during half-time, we gave away some great raffle gifts.  Hope to see you at the next game watch: 2:30 p.m. on Saturday against Northern Illinois.

After a long off-season, the San Antonio Buckeyes alumni and fans were eager to come together to watch Ohio State exact revenge on the VT Hokies.  We had 111 people come watch 12-Guage, Brax, Zeke and crew and it was an awesome start to the season.  If you missed last week's game, join us this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Buffalo Wings and Rings for the home opener.  Tomorrow will be your last chance to pay membership dues (only $10) and be eligible for the early bird prize: an autographed copy of "The Game of my Life."  Hope to see you there!  If your picture was taken at the last game watch and is not published below, check the Facebook page to see your photo.
