Fellow Buckeyes,

WOW, lots going on.  This email summarizes all the activities that are scheduled over the next few months so you can Save Dates/Mark Calendars.

1. Saturday Gamewatch.  #14 Buckeyes open Big Ten Season with an away game vs #20 Michigan State (3-1) at 2:30pm (Note time!!) .  We continue our relationship with our gamewatch hosts, Big Sam's Grill and Bar, 13802 Embassy Row, Near Embassy Theaters, Across from StarBucks off Bitters and Rt 281.  This week's special is the Spartan Steak Sandwich

2. Brats in the Park Big Ten PicnicThis Sunday, 30 Sep, 2-4PM, Raymond Russell Park.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids-checks made out to The Big 10 Alumni Council of San Antonio. Need your RSVPs by COB Thursday (send email with number of adults and kids to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).  We also ask families to bring canned goods and/or a blanket to donate to the SA Food Bank.  Last year we gave several hundred pounds of food and dozens of blankets...great cause.

3. Oct Football Gamewatches.  Games against Nebraska (Oct 6) and Indiana (Oct 13) are evening games - 7:00PM.  We will be having some special fun those evenings so bring the entire gang!  We've been getting some great donations building up our Silent Auction offerings.  Look for special announcement on that!

4. Big Ten Golf TournamentSunday, Oct 14th, Tee off at 1:00pm, Registration opens at noon.  Ft Sam Houston golf course, 1050 Harry Wurzbach Rd.  Flyer is on our website, www.sanantoniobuckeyes.com, and Facebook pages, The Ohio State Alumni Club of San Antonio and The Big Ten Alumni Council of San Antonio.  If you or your company wish to donate a prize please let me know.  All proceeds go to the Big 10 scholarship fund -- scholarship to be presented at the Alamo Bowl!  $90.00 per person/$60.00 for enlisted active duty.  NOTE: Dinner is Included in the golf registration fee.  Silent auction for Big Ten coach/VIP signed football & basketball at the golf tournament.  Please let me know soonest if you plan to golf as a single or a 4-some.

5. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk.  The 2012 San Antonio Light The Night Walk will take place on:  Saturday, October 20, 2012 at HemisFair Park, Check-In: 5:30 p.m.  Walk Begins: 7:30 p.m.  To register to walk with us or to donate to our team visit:  http://pages.lightthenight.org/sctx/SAntonio12/TheOhioState . 6. Rock and Roll Marathon: November 11, 2012.  Start times: Bike Tour: 6:45 am, Wheelchair Invitational: 7:25 am, Marathon, Half Marathon, 2 Person Half Marathon Relay: 7:30 am.  Start Line: Downtown San Antonio (S. Alamo Street & E. Market Street), Finish Line: Alamodome (Cherry Street).  The Ohio State Alumni will man Water Station 4 at mile marker 5.  If you want to volunteer, please notify our club VP, Greg Jellick or Rachel Leier (at next gamewatch) or send an email to our club, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. 7. OSU Athletic Teams visiting Texas:  Here are some of the teams visiting Texas over the next few months,  The club will concentrate on supporting the NCAA Fencing Championships in March 2013 here in San Antonio, but if interested in meeting with teams or just going to meets as a group, here are the teams/dates.

Golf: 29-30 Oct, Royal Oaks Intercollegiate Meet, Dallas.

Men/Women's Pistol:  3 Nov at Texas A&M, College StationSwimming/Diving:  29 Nov-1 Dec, USA Nationals in Austin

Men's Tennis:  10 Feb 2013 at Texas A&M

Men and Women's Fencing: 21-24 March 2013, NCAA Championships, San Antonio...Let's vote on sponsoring a dinner or other get together with our team!

8.  For our annual General Membership Meeting/BUCK-O games night at the Larsons, Randy and Teena have asked if Saturday 9 Feb 2013 would be good.  I will be discussing with my officers, but please save the date.  It's a real fun evening, and we will be having Club officer elections, so think about volunteering.

Whew!  And I didn't mention all the great Young Buckeye activities that Morgan Barbee is dreaming up for our 35 yr olds and below!
