Two days after several Ohio State freshmen proudly displayed wristbands supporting deposed Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel, the university has taken them away and refunded the players’ money.  Ohio State spokesman Jerry Emig said Friday that officials wondered if wearing the wristbands—which said “JT”—could be an NCAA violation.  “We don’t know that yet, but that’s what compliance is looking into,” Emig said.   Hmmm, Wristbands support the Vest?  Anyone? GO BUCKS!

COLUMBUS (AP)—The weight room has been a place to retreat for the Ohio State Buckeyes this summer.  Going through workouts, the Buckeyes have tried to shut out all the bad news stemming from an NCAA investigation into a memorabilia-for-cash and tattoos scandal that has cost Ohio State its coach and its quarterback.  “You stay focused. You have tunnel vision,” linebacker Andrew Sweat said Wednesday. “Obviously, people are entitled to their opinion but you just move forward.”

(ESPN.com)  Entering the NFL's supplemental draft is Terrelle Pryor's "desire," according to his attorney. But might he be better off first playing professional football in the United Football League?  A well-placed UFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter Wednesday that Pryor would benefit from the coaching in the league, which includes high-profile former NFL coaches such as Marty Schottenheimer, Dennis Green, Jim Fassel and Jerry Glanville. The source said he believes there's "a decent shot" Pryor could wind up playing this year in the UFL.  ** Our loss is their gain -- is Pryor and Clarett moving opposite directions?? **  Go Bucks!
